We have two critically important goals for the items we sell from our Learning Center. First, and most important, we want to help you stay closely connected to your food so that you can make the best food choices for you and your family. And second, we want to help maintain a little of our history by sharing with you the heritage practices of small ranches and farms in our area from our past. To reach these two goals, we make the following products and services available to anyone with internet access.

• Food Connections Essential Knowledge and Skills - We have developed a list of the things we believe it is important for people to know and be able to do, at each age level, in order to have a good working connection to the foods they choose to eat. We primarily use this list to guide our development of all of our educational products. However, if you are a teacher, group leader, or parent, you may find this list useful as you are planning eating, shopping, and//or learning events for others. Because we are located in Texas, when possible, we cross-reference our list with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills that are used by the Texas Education Agency. We also, when we can, cross-reference with standards set by national or international education organizations. We make the JJD Ranch Food Connections EKS available by yearly subscription.



• Food Connections Classes - We are not master gardeners, nor are we nutritionists, but we are always happy to share what we have learned over the years. We offer online classes to help you learn what we have learned over the years. Some are meant for children, and some are meant for adult learners. Some of our classes are free to you. Others are available at a per seat enrollment price. Some are self-paced, and some are small group learning experiences. Except for our video classes, most of our classes are interactive.



• Food Connections Learning Plans - We offer a line of single lesson plans and units of study plans for school aged children - K-12 that can be purchased, downloaded or printed, and used by anyone teaching students. We are also always happy to work with you to develop customized plans for your learners. We charge a consulting fee when we do so.



• Food Connections Speakers Bureau - We are happy to travel to your event to provide a professional presenation on making food connections. We also have a small line of online presentations that are similar to our classes but that are suitable for presenting to smaller groups such as social clubs during a meeting.

Educational processes are near and dear to our hearts. We firmly believe that part of the reason we have become so badly disconnected from our food sources is that our current educational systems does not spend enough time teaching our students about food. This part of our business is an educational e-commerce business. We offer both classes and educational materials to be used by teachers exclusively in an online environment. We think our services are especially useful to home-school parents, home-school co-ops, small private schools, and in at least a few cases public schools. But we are available both to provide learning plans and to actually teach learners of all ages who want to become better connected to their food and want to make more informed choices about their foods.

The majority of the products that we sell through the Learning Center are real products that contain intellectual property. In order to keep the cost of these products low for our customers, we have adopted the following following policies:

• When you subscribe to a product, you are free to use it as it is intended within the time period of your subscription. However, the intellectually property of that product is retained by JJD Ranch. This means that you may copy parts of it for personal use, but you may not make copies to distribute to others. You may develop your own intellectual properties based on the content of the product, and you may use reasonable amounts of the content in your intellectual property as long as you provide proper citation of our intellectual property.



• When you directly purchase a product from our learning center, the intellectual property of that product is retained by JJD Ranch. You may use it in the way it is intended as often and as many times as you choose. However, you may not distribute it or sell it to others. We do our best to keep the cost of things like learning plans very low, so we do ask that each person who plans to use it purchase their own copy of it.



• Our Food Connection Essential Skills and our Learning Plans are based on what might be expected of a typical learner in the designated age range. While we do our best to create products that can be used successfully by many, we cannot guarantee student outcomes because of variables that exist in groups of learners and in those who deliver instruction. We cannot refund subscription or purchase prices of our products. However, we are available to support you if you have questions or difficulties with using any of our products.



• Before enrolling in any of our classes that do require an enrollment fee, we ask that you take a pre-test to be sure that you are a good candidate for the class. Because we have helped you verify that the class will be useful to you before you pay for the class, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, and we cannot refund enrollment once you have taken the class. Because the classes that do require an enrollment fee are limited, once you have paid for your space in a class, we cannot refund your enrollment fee. However, if you give us at least 48 hours notice that you are unable to take the class, and if we can enroll someone else in the class in your place, we will give you credit that you can use to enroll in another class.



• The majority of our classes are offered to you with no enrollment fee. We rely on passive income to pay us for the time it takes us to produce them. So, when you watch one of our videos, take one of our free interactive classes, or participate in a self- study class online, we appreciate it if you take time to watch any adds, if you suggest our classes to your friends, and if you like or follow us on social media and on platforms like youtube.
